Hanny Wijaya

Hanny Wijaya is a professor at the Department of Food Science and Technology
(FST-IPB), Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Bogor Agricultural University,
Indonesia. She obtained her Ph.D. degree from the Graduate School of Hokkaido
University in Japan, in the field of agricultural chemistry in 1990. She is
currently the head of the food chemistry division in FST-IPB, and also the
coordinator of IPB-Hokkaido University cooperation desk. Until 2011, she was
the chief of the board of editors for the Journal of Food Technology and
Industries (Jurnal Teknologi dan Industri Pangan), a formal publishing journal
of the Association of Indonesian Food Technologist (PATPI) in cooperation with
FST-IPB. She is a visiting lecturer at several Indonesian and overseas
universities. These include the National University of Singapore, Hokkaido
University, Pelita Harapan University, Swiss-Germany University and Atmajaya
University. She has conducted several national competitive researches as well
as international joint researches with Hokkaido University (JSPS-funding),
BAZ-Germany (DAAD funding) and Wisconsin University (USDA funding) in the field
of food technology, particularly relating to flavor and bioactive compounds.
Professor
Wijaya has received approval for ten patents and has two patents in process.
Her research findings have been published in over 100 national and international
scientific journals. She has also published 8 books and 3 review papers. She
has been requested as a reviewer on several scientific journals i.e. J .
Agricultural and Food Chemistry, Food Chemistry, International Food Research
Journal, Hayati, Jamu, majalah Pangan, Minyak atsiri.
Beside
her academic involvement, she was the founder of IPB`s career development
center. She is active as a consultant in a number of industries; including PT
Ogawa Indonesia, PT Otsuka Indonesia, PT Indesso Aroma and Nestle R&D Singapore, as well as consultant expert
for the Directorate General of Higher Education (DGHE)-Ministry of Education.
Since 2005 until now, she is the president of Indonesian Association of Flavor
and Fragrance (AFFI), and also P3FNI. She involve as member of professional
organizations such as the International Food Technologist (IFT), ISEKI,
Indonesian Society for Microbiology (PERMI) and  Indonesian Association of Food Technologists
(PATPI). Since last year, she has been appointed as Hokkaido university
ambassador.
Professor Wijaya has
received several awards including the Erasmus plus in 2017, Rooseno Award in
2013, the Outstanding Intellectuals Property Award (Anugerah Kekayaan
Intelektual Luar Biasa) in 2012, the Indonesian 100/101/103/105/106 Innovations
Awards in 2008/2009/2011/2013/2014, Association of Indonesian Food Science and
Technologists (PATPI) Award in 2010 and the One Hundred Indonesian Oustanding
Women Researchers (100 Perempuan Peneliti Berprestasi Indonesia) in 2010. She
was selected as the most inspiring lecture and the outstanding lecturer at IPB.
Several grants including a competency grant from DGHE- Ministry of Education
and Culture, Republic of of Indonesia, LPDP, AUSAID, DAAD, JAFIC, JSPS, and
Japan Foundation have been received.Â
